Diane Flory Cothran

Diane was car jacked and viscously attacked after helping a fellow church member that was going through some difficult times. After bringing her friend food and necessary things for her and her children her friend ask Diane if she could give her brother a ride. Shortly after getting into the car he attacked her from the back seat. He began by hitting her in the back of her head and then tasing her multiple times on her neck. He then pulled her out of her car and left her in the street. She was found a short time later by a patrolling police officer.  She was immediately rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive care unit. She spent 2 weeks at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital, and recently was transferred to Vibra Hospital in Mt.Pleasant SC.  Diane has been unable to breathe on her own and has no use of her arms or legs. Diane is fighting hard and faces a very tough battle ahead of her. Vibra Hospital specializes in helping people to get off of ventilators and breathing on their own. We are hoping she will be able to go to a rehab facility and eventually home. This is going to be a long expensive process. If and when she goes home she will need 24 hour care. Diane has a powerful prayer network,  church family and friends supporting her. Any help we can get to help her will be greatly appreciated.            Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
