Mom came to Saint Anthony's West Hospital the first day of June complaining of headaches, dizziness and difficulty walking. The emergency room conducted a series of tests and detected two brain tumors.
She had brain surgery the next morning and survived the operation removing 99% of the larger baseball sized tumor (left hemisphere) and a significant amount of pressure. Unfortunately the smaller, Concord grape sized, tumor (right hemisphere) was unable to be removed in the surgery and remains.
Both tumors are cancerous, aggressive and incurable. Mom has decided to forgo chemotherapy and radiation treatment and pass away in the comfort of her cabin home near Bailey Colorado.
Her life expectancy is weeks to one month. She will be cared for by her loving husband Reagan David, her son Ken Allen-David and good family friend "Uncle" Jim Mitchell and Mount Evan's Hospice.
