Greetings Friends and Family,


Welcome and God Bless You for being here.  This is a page kept by the close family members of Diana Boswell, with the intention of keeping all who care about Diana in the "Caring Loop".  As you may know by now, Diana has been diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.  In mid-January, Diana went to a relatively routine doctors appointment to check her heart for atrial-fibrillation as a possible correlation to her shortness of breath.  The doctor's did find the "A-fib" that they expected, in addition to a fluid retention in her left lung.  Immediate hospitalization was recommended, and Diana was admitted. 


The hospital doctors at Presbyterian began their work.  Chest x-rays were taken along with blood work and an evaluation of the heart's rhythm. The chest x-ray indeed confirmed fluid in the left lung, however, in a rare occurrence for chest x-rays, the x-ray technician pictured her kidneys in the shot as well and a tumor was spotted on one of her kidneys. 


A day later, the lung was "drained" with a syringe and the subsequent fluid sent to pathology for a cancer screen (a process only carried out due to the accidental spotting of the mass on Diana's kidney). The result of the pathology report would shock us all to our very core.


The news was in, and the prognosis wasn't good. The next few days were full of shock, tears, and finally, a vow to fight.  


Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer does not have a cure, however, the cancer can be slowed to allot for more time with loved ones.  Diana wants nothing more than to see the birth of her Grandson in April!
