I was totally taken unaware with my diagnosis. I had been feeling run down, but life was extra hectic and it felt "normal." Fortunately, I got a terrible pain in my shoulder that wouldn't go away (as well as a few other symptoms) and I decided to go see my doctor. She ordered blood work, and ultrasound and a long overdue mammogram. When she got the blood work back, she switched the ultrasound to a CT Scan. From there it was a whirlwind. The scan showed cancer in my colon, liver and abdomen and she sent me for a colonoscopy (also long overdue) immediately to confirm via biopsy which cancer cells. Turns out I have Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer. So here I am, and if you choose, you can follow along on my journey.
