Deirdre Garrison

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. 
As many of you know, the Garrison family was involved in a terrible car accident on the way to Colorado to visit with family and friends and get some skiing in at Copper Mountain.  Unfortunately, they were involved in a multi-car accident that left Glenn & Riley with some fractured ribs.  Glenn, Riley and Aidan were all banged up but are going to heal with time.
Deirdre, however, suffered more injuries, including a lacerated liver, stitches over her eye and on her foot, and multiple fractures in her spine.  She was air flighted from Burlington, CO to St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO (suburb of Denver).  She then had emergency spinal surgery, which left several screws and rods (she's bionic!).  The surgery was very successful and her spine is realigned, but her spinal cord is still recovering from the trauma. She is resting in the hospital with family all around, and will begin her recovery journey.
Today 3/19 she had an MRI that confirmed the surgery and re alignment of her spine were successful.
We will do our best to update this site regularly.  Please check in here, and share the site with other friends.  We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and love.  We have family in Denver and will be in great hands until our return home to Fayetteville.
