Desiree was admitted through the ER at Children's Hospital on Thursday Jan. 24th after a chest x-ray revealed a large amount of fluid surrounding her left lung. After a chest tube placement to begin draining the fluid, she was admitted up to the 5th floor where she is now camped out in room 524B. She has not been allowed to eat since Saturday and now that she has a PICC line (a central catheter to administer IV fluids, medications etc) we hope they will be able to give her some nourishment also through this line.
