In August 2014, Den was diagnosed with melanoma in his left eye. This eye was removed.

In May of 2017, the diagnosis was lung cancer and a portion of his left upper lobe was removed.

A new spot appeared on his right lung in November 2018 followed by chemo and radiation treatments.

2019 was pretty uneventful until November - new cancer showed up in his right lung.

2020 - tests were put on hold due to COVID. However, Den was able to have a series of radiation treatments. Toward the end of 2020, Den started having problems with his hip/leg.

The CAT scan in January of this year revealed the spot on his lung had gotten somewhat thicker and the PET scan showed new spots on his liver and pancreas.
In February, a CAT scan on his brain revealed a mass on his right frontal lobe.
In the past 6 months, Den has had radiation on his brain along with two immunotherapy treatments and weekly PT sessions. He has battled sepsis (twice), C-diff (twice), gallstones, blocked bile duct surgeries (twice), three hospital stays and lastly a 3 1/2 week stay at a rehab facility.
He has fought long and hard and his body is tired.

Yesterday he came home under Hospice care.

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls.”

Please keep Den (and his family) in your prayers. They have put their trust in God.
