Dennis was diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome) on Wednesday, February 26th. It's considered a blood cancer and is known as pre-leukemia. Basically, MDS is considered bone marrow failure...the bone marrow is not making enough white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets and other cells. On March 3rd we have an appointment at the University of Minnesota with one of the leading MDS doctors for a second opinion. The only curative treatment is a bone marrow transplant but we're unsure what route his treatment will take. Please follow along with our journey.
