On March 6th, 2017 our mother turned 66 yo. We were unable to celebrate her birthday as she had the stomach flu. On March 12th I received a phone call from David letting me know my mother was very sick and in a lot of pain and an ambulance was on the way, and this is where her story begins. On Sunday morning at 9 a.m, after test results were in, my mother called to tell us she needed surgery for a blockage and that the blockage was colon-cancer. She was operated on at 3:45 p.m. that same day. After the surgery the doctor told us that she did well, he believed he removed the entire tumor, as well as the lymphnodes, and a portion of the duodendum. He did not see any signs that the cancer was in any of the other major organs. David, Joey, Ashley, Mario, Carrie, Danielle, and I went to see her in recovery. She was certainly out of it, but was so happy that Carrie was there to put on her chapstick. It's those little things.
