Warning long post !!⚠️

By now many of you know that on 5/13/22 I was diagnosed with a very nasty lung cancer. I have adenocarcinoma non small cell. This is the most common cancer among non smokers, former smokers and active smokers. I need you to understand that if you have not smoked in 5, 10 or 15 years you need to always remember you were a smoker. I had almost forgotten and never imagined the only problem I was having was shoulder pain. That shoulder pain was a cancer that had been growing for roughly a year and has now moved around my heart. My primary tumor in is the brachia plexus wrapping up a bundle of nerves that I just marked off as part of my never ending arthritis. The Lord had my back on April 21st when I could not clear my throat and the bright red blood brought me to my senses very quickly. I saw my PA Jennifer Hart on April 26th and she starting rolling the ball after a bad chest X-ray. May 9th lung biopsy and May 12th PET scan with the help of my precious friend and oncologist Chris Snead who will be battling with me. It's a crazy ride with crazy results.

In less than 8 hours I will start my radiation and chemotherapy journey for the next 7 weeks. My cancer is inoperable at the moment but with some shrinkage we believe we will be able to find a surgeon willing to remove as much as possible.

My first intention is to ask the mightiest of all healers to remove it all so it doesn't require a surgeon at all. I am walking in full faith knowing how big my God is and he can do big things. I have all the fight I need in my heart and spirit and it comes from the love I have for my family and friends. I have a ton of memories yet to be made so I am armored up and ready for battle. All prayers are most welcome. Thank you to everyone who has reached out it means the world.

My sweet friend Jill Porterfield Patterson has started a Caring Bridge page for any that wants to follow me on this new journey. I'm sure it will be most entertaining as you know my favorite medicine is humor. It is very difficult to keep everyone updated daily so this process should be easier.

God Bless you all and please pay attention to your body when it is clearly telling you something. Never in a million years and not two weeks ago would I have believed this scenario. Shoulder pain, no cough, no shortness of breath equaled full blown lung cancer.

Let it be known I have the most amazing family and village made up of every magical trait I could ask for. I have listerners, bossy people, straight up from their mouth to God's ears prayer warriors, cooks, hand-holders, you don't fool me I know your scared call you out people. I have so many BFF's all different all important and all strong and always at my back. I have a wonderful husband Marty and two great boys. Nick has just recently moved back to Shreveport for a new job and finishing school up at LSUS. God has a plan.
