Dell Crosby

On Friday, July 10,  Dell was clearing land to make way for parking at our home in the country.   He had already taken down several trees and was getting ready to chainsaw his last pine when it fell toward our house.   With no time to reason, he yelled, oh no, and put out his arms to stop the tree.   Instead , he found himself on his back with a 2 ton tree across his abdomen.
If the tree had not fallen on the house, I would never have heard his cries for help.  With very little oxygen expanding his lungs, he cried for me .  Sweating profusely and short of breath, he told me to go get a board from the barn.  Of course, I was crying and calling 911 and our neighbor
while running to the barn and wondering if Dell would be alive when I returned.  .  I grabbed the first board I could find and dragged it back to him while calling out to him.
Dell said, he told the Lord that he was not scared to die but please let him live for me.    Once I got to him, he had the calmness and clarity to tell me exactly how to place the board to be able to leverage the tree off his abdomen just to allow enough time for paramedics to arrive before he died.
