Hi Everyone!
First, I have to say just how thankful and overwhelmed I am by all the comments, thoughts, prayers and well-wishes that have flooded Facebook and my cell phone in response to Laurie Lavoi's post. I read each and every comment and text and when I have had a momentary feeling of fear or anxiety, I have re-visited them again and again. You cannot imagine just how much all of your prayers and comments have meant to me during this past week of absolute insanity. I visited Kaiser on Wed May 10th to get routine blood tests and a chest xray (because I had a bad cough) and by the 19th, I had undergone a CT Scan, a PET scan and a hip biopsy. What I thought was just a bad cough or upper respiratory infection revealed a much more dire situation. In a space of just 14 days! Can you say severe shock and utter disbelief???!!!!
I know that many of you want to know the outcome of the biopsy and specifics about my ongoing care, so I have decided that a Caring Bridge site would be the best way to keep you all updated. It is where I will provide detailed updates on my health so we can take this journey together. I believe in the power of numbers in prayer and energy and so, I welcome you to be part of my team of warriors if you choose to do so. The more the merrier!
