Here is a message from Debbie she wrote 7/10/18:
- I'm sick. Starting in February of this year, I noticed some discomfort in my left butt, which I mostly ignored, because Dad died on February 15. - Over several months the pain kept getting worse. In mid-May I went to my GP to get it checked out. She wasn't concerned and said to 'come back if it gets worse'. A week later I was in excruciating pain and I went to an After Hours Clinic. The Dr. took an X Ray which showed 'normal degeneration' because I am 60 years old. I started seeing a chiropractor because I had 2 trips scheduled to New York City in June and I wanted to be pain free. After 6 weeks of treatment, the Chiropractor said he was concerned because I wasn't responding as he thought I should be, and so he ordered an MRI, which I had last week. - The results came back 'abnormal' and I was hospitalized yesterday. - They're still running tests, but several things are clear: I do have cancer. We're not sure what kind. But we'll get there. The Dr. says the mortality rate is 90% and I probably have about 2 years to live. - I'm sharing this information with you because are you are part of my community- who I adore. I am in the process of setting up a Care Team and a Caring Bridge page to help me and Cindy weather the oncoming storm. I should know more information by the end of the week. The Caring Bridge website will be updated with specific requests and also ways for you to volunteer--however you are moved to do so. - We are doing this so we are not barraged by emails. We know you love us. We love you. I will say more in a few days, but for now please respect our privacy as we cling to each other. Love, Debbie and Cindy
