Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Debi Kopcial Brown  known to thousands of past Mansfield school  students  as “Miss Brown“.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and  prayers. Thank you for visiting.
Debi checked herself in the the hospital in  Milton, Florida on October 13th not feeling well and after some testing  they found her anemic,  having pneumonia and  a cancerous mass in her stomach. The hospital in Milton was not equipped to handle Debi’s case and began a long task of looking  for the right combination of hospital, surgeons and insurance company permission.  So, finally Debi was transported to  University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital on October 25th. They  did some thorough testing in Birmingham.  Now remember,  Debi has not had anything to eat or drink since Oct 15th.  The doctors in Birmingham did a procedure that would allow a small amount of soft food and liquid to pass through her stomach.  On October 31st Debi was released at Birmingham to travel to Memphis  to stay with her Memphis family and build her strength and begin Chemotherapy treatment at the West Clinic. So, that should catch everyone up to speed. This is where we are at.  We ask that you use this site to communicate with us and we’ll do our best to let everyone know where we are at on this long journey.  Some days there are updates some days there are none.  But Debi  needs your prayers on all those days and we know you stand behind our Miss Brown.
