Earlier this month I noticed that my vision in my left eye was blurry so I made an appointment with my eye doctor. I was told I had a tumor in my retina and was swiftly sent off to see a specialist at Mayo. I have since been diagnosed with cancer for the third time since 2004 with the first two being breast cancer. I am waiting for a biopsy to determine if the cancer is metastatic breast cancer or something else. A recent PET/CT showed cancer in several places in my body, including my left lung, left hip, chest area, left eye and several lymph nodes. 
I wanted to start this site so that my family and friends can get the most current information we have available. We have practically lived at Mayo the past two weeks and it's been difficult to keep everyone updated, especially since I have a paralyzed vocal cord and find it tiring to speak for very long.
I love you all and would love to speak to each of you everyday but it's just not physically possible. 
Please do not feel any obligation to follow my page or to respond to every update. I know you love me and are praying for me and that you have plenty to keep you busy with your own family and friends. I will not be offended!
Above all I desire to bring honor and glory to one who created me in his image and in his kindness plucked me out of this world and set his affections on me. That does not mean I will not grieve, fear or be anxious at times. It does mean that I trust the father in his sovereign will to carry out his beautiful plan for me until he calls me home to be with my savior. 
My favorite passage lately has been Lamentations 3:21-24
21 But this I call to mind,
    and therefore I have hope:
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “therefore I will hope in him.”
