My journey started with a routine yearly mammogram on December 8, 2016. I was notified that a lump as seen on my left breast. This was my 5th lump in my lifetime and they always came out benign cystic adenomas. This time, my lump was much larger over 1 inch in length. I had a needle biopsy on January 10th, I received the news that it did not look like cancer, but it probably was a rare tumor called a Phylodes tumor. This would require removal of whole tumor. I made the decision to go to Virginia Piper breast center.
