In April 2019,  Steve was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and underwent surgery in June 2019 at BWH, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. Radiation ended beginning of October, and by the end of the month, Steve started having difficulty breathing. He was hospitalized at BWH in November and after 2 months of treatment which included prolonged periods of intubation, Steve’s spirit passed gently into eternity on January 26, 2020.  

Debbie had been working from home, caring for Steve, when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on November 11,2019. She underwent bilateral Mastectomies on 12/5/19, followed by another surgery on 12/19/19 to remove more Cancer cells. Debbie has now completed 6 months of chemotherapy and is about to begin 28 days of radiation treatment.  New evidence indicates that she has suffered cardiac damage due to the chemotherapy, and she is awaiting further reports on this condition.
