My story begins with what I thought would be a simple hysterectomy back in August.  When I went for a 10 day post op visit it was at that moment my life changed.  I was told I had ovarian cancer; more specifically clear cell carcinoma.  As you can imagine, I was devastated!   I was sent for further testing and it was discovered that I had a mass on my left kidney.  I felt like my life was spiraling out of control.  After several doctors visits, I've chosen to bring my care to Northwestern Hospital.  More comprehensive testing has been done and I'm now faced  with yet another surgery,  scheduled for October 17th.  My surgery will consist of the removal of my left kidney, removal of my omentum and endometrial lymph nodes which will aid in the staging of my cancer.  Two oncologists will be performing my surgery which will take 5-8 hours.  There is a possibility that I may be needing chemotherapy depending upon the stage of my cancer.

I'm grateful to everyone who has prayed for me during this life changing experience.  It has helped me to stay strong and stay focused on getting better.  I am truly a witness that there is power in prayer!
