Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Debbie Frear. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My sister Tracy and I thought it would be much easier to update everyone as we all support her through this journey. The main reason is to honestly get as many prayers, good vibes and words of encouragement as possible!!

Mom has Cancer and It sucks!! We are all heartbroken but remain super positive!! This all began last year and during the beginning of Covid. We will call last year part 1 and what is to come part 2 and hopefully the very final part God willing!!

Part 1: Mom was diagnosed with Large B Cell Lymphoma, had numerous weeks of radiation and got through it like a champ! I make it sound better than it was. It was awful but she was determined and never complained. She named her radiation mask -Nettie! I am amazed at how strong she is and watched her bounce back right after she completed the treatments. From there she would follow up with the doctor.

Part 2: Mom noticed another area on her face. She kept watch on it but One day it grew triple in size overnight. She has since had surgery to remove it and it was sent off to pathology at Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion.  It was confirmed recently by Pet Scan and  bone marrow testing that it has not spread anywhere else. Cleveland Clinic confirmed the same cancer diagnosis however its slightly a different type and is more aggressive and has to be treated with an ugly form of chemotherapy.

So for the past few weeks ago she has been preparing. She has had both rounds of the covid vaccine, a port procedure is scheduled for March 15th. She has also cut her hair in a super cute bob! Her fabulous friend Jodi went with Mom and they chose a few wigs so she is ready to go - as she has been told she will lose all her hair. She looks so sassy and fabulous in them!  She begins Chemo on March 22nd. She needs prayers!!  Well wishes !! And  just positive energy to get her through all of this! Basically her entire spring  and summer will be 4 treatments and then a follow up Pet Scan to tell us what we all want to hear- treatment was successful.

We will post regular updates.

Today’s update  is to just say her husband Mike is her rock. He has been so supportive, optimistic and makes her days the best they can be, as I know she is scared and wants this to be all over and get back to her busy little self!!

We all love this woman more than we could explain in words! And we will get her through this as she goes through each round of chemotherapy.

You can bet we plan to celebrate after treatment is over!!

My sister and I appreciate all your support and pray for you all as we continue to navigate through Covid. It’s been one heck of a year for everybody.

Love,
Jennifer and Tracy

PS. The real scary story for this update is they are teaching my niece Morgan how to drive!! ☺️
