Thursday 1/7/2016 at 7:35 Debbie was headed to work on highway 50 when she was t-boned by a Pickup truck heading west on 128. She was pinned in the car and had to be removed with the jaws of life. She was ambulanced to Syracuse Memorial Hospital to be assessed and then transported to Brian West trauma hospital where she is in ICU. They did all their tests and found that she has a cracked pubic bone, cracked tailbone (sacrum), a broken rib, bruised lungs and a brain injury with bleeding. they took a scan of her brain and that night took another one with no change, which was good news meaning that it wasn't getting worse. Friday she was moving her arms and legs some but not to commands and she still was not awake so they did another scan. Friday night their scan showed it wasn't getting worse so they started decreasing the sedation to see if she would wake. Saturday they took a cat scan of the upper body and found it was normal so they took the neck collar off. they took her completely off the sedation. She is starting to shake her head to questions and move her hands & feet to commands a little. Sunday there wasn't much change, she still wasn't awake but answering questions better so Sunday night they took her off the bag pain meds and are doing shots in the IV to see if she will wake up. This morning (Monday 1/11/2016) she is a little easier to rouse and she is opening her eyes more, but she has the tube in and still hasn't woke up yet. Thank you for your prayer, support and love. We will let everyone know when it is ok to come up and see her. right now being in ICU they only let 2 at a time in and want it to remain quiet.
