Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Debbie's journey began on April 2, 2016 when she was admitted to United Hospital for chest pain - just 2 weeks after her brother had suddenly passed, and it was discovered that she had had a heart attack. While in the hospital and having tests done - a mass on her lung was discovered. Upon further testing we were given the news that it was cancer. Over the past year - she has undergone chemotherapy and radiation - only to discover it had metastasized to her liver. In September she began a new treatment plan (sorry the name of the drug escapes me) Fast forward to March 3rd 2017....she was having chest pain and called 911 - back to United for her heart where it was discovered she had another "silent heart attack" and problems with atrial fibrillation. After a 5 day hospital stay she came home on March 9th. On Tuesday morning at 1:30 am we were back in the Hudson ER as she was struggling with shortness of breath. After a CT Scan there - it was determined that things were changing a bit more rapidly than we wanted and we found ourselves back at United. Through more testing, scans, and conversations with the Oncologist....Debbie came home to her apartment on Saturday March 25th.
We appreciate your support and words of hope, encouragement and prayers. We will be using this site to keep family and friends up to date on how/where things are. Thank you for visiting.
