Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Here is a little background on Diane's story...

This past fall Diane began noticing blurring and reduced vision in her eyes. She visited her optometrist for her yearly eye appointment in mid October.  At the appointment, the  optometrist saw some abnormalities in her retina and referred her to a Retina Specialist.  She saw that specialist shortly after and he discovered inflammation and lesions in her eye,  the cause of which was unknown. During one of her follow up visits, Diane mentioned having a slight cough. Being very thorough, the Retina Specialist ordered an X-Ray of the chest and some blood work, thinking perhaps she had Pneumonia. The X-Ray  revealed an abnormality in her lungs. Her retonologist immediately collaborated with her Primary Care Doctor and ordered a CT, MRI and bloodwork, which was followed by a PET scan and a meeting with a Thoracic Surgeon, Oncologist and Neuro Oncologist. All of this testing and collaboration has lead to her diagnosis of Stage Four Metastatic Lung Cancer. Diane has completed a biopsy and is waiting on genetic testing for a treatment plan. This has all taken place in less than two months. It's a lot of information to process as a family and also find time to share, to SO many caring friends and family. Thank you for visiting our site.
