Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

On December 20th, 2016, Dean came into the hospital with a bad headache, that had been ongoing for a couple days, and some sporadic losses of memory.  In a short time of getting a CT scan, the test revealed a 3.5 cm mass on the left frontal lobe of the brain. Upon that finding, additional tests were ordered. The CAT scan came back negative for any other masses from the neck down and the EEG scan showed normal functioning brain activity with no signs of seizures.  The MRI revealed a better image of the mass on the brain with exact measurements and coordinates of where it is for removal.  This mass has likely been growing for the past few months and has become large enough to disrupt memory and cause serious headaches.  We are in the process of getting a surgery scheduled, hopefully by the end of 2016.  Once this mass is removed, the doctors are able to tell exactly what we are dealing with. They don't want to speculate on the severity until we know for sure and can set up treatment options. We are optimistic that this surgery can help relieve the pain and we can begin the road to a full recovery.

We will be making updates as we know more in the upcoming days. Thank you all that have visited and sent your kind words in this very short time.  We appreciate all the caring and support received, and that truly shows what great friends and family we are so lucky to have.
