Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The last 11 months Dean has really been struggling with his health. It started with a bad stomach ache that brought us int urgent care and that lead us to abnormal bloodwork and and enlarged spleen. After many tests, biopsies, images, and SO many dr appointments we knew Dean had significant liver damage and cirrhosis but didn’t know what caused it. Finally we found out that Dean has an autoimmune disease called primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). He had already been evaluated for a liver transplant but with this diagnosis they were ready to officially list him. On September 10 he was listed and we got a call on Monday September 13!!! We came into the hospital and they talked to us about what to expect and what was going to happen. It ended up that we did not get that liver because it just was not the best choice logistically.
