Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In 01/2016, a friend found me in distress and called 911. I was taken by ambulance that Saturday evening to the hospital. That is the last I remember until I woke up and learned from a doc that I was in ICU Isolation, in that I suffered from Cellulitis/MRSA and that I had been out for 4 days. I ended up being in that hospital for one week and in  a rehab hospital for 2 weeks, learning how to walk again.

In 01/2017, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Squamous Cell Carcinoma in my right neck. I talk with God and told Him that if it was my time to go, I was ready but I did not want any pain. I also told Him that if he wanted me to stay around, I still did not want any pain. I also reminded Him that He had just given me Janet to love and care for, so I asked Him not to forget this fact. Well, on March 28, 2017, Dr. Andy went in and they took out 66 lymph nodes, my right tonsil, and part of the base of my tongue. I had 8 weeks of chemo, once weekly and 8 weeks of radiation, 5Xs weekly. Zero reaction to the chemo. Zero pain in the throat to the radiation.

But due to that surgery, I lost most of my taste and smell, but, I did not lose my ability to talk. I was fortunate to have a nurse wife who helped me in my recovering process. Also, had one daughter, an ICU Nurse and one daughter, Medical Assistant to help me. So, I was in good hands.

In June 2020, my cardiologist said my heart issues got better in the place where my blood flow was really good. He said that I did not have CHF. And in July, Dr. Andy called me and said that my 3yr test for the clinical study I was on, showed that there was NO CANCER found in my throat. All that good news.

It was in late July 2020 that a scan showed that I had cancer in my prostate, Stage 3 at the Biopsy, and it was an aggressive cancer. So, had a full body CAT Scan & Bone Scan, to which they said that I needed to have a PET Sc an also. That is upcoming on August 24, 2020. In my talk with God, I had the same requests that if it was my time to go, I was ready but I did not want any pain. I also told Him that if he wanted me to stay around, I still did not want any pain. I also reminded Him that He had just given me Janet to love and care for, so I asked Him not to forget this.

So, we will see what the results will be from the PET Scan. I know others who have had Prostate Cancer and have went on to live a good life. My life is in God's hands and he has allowed us a neat way to make friendships even while not getting out. This can be found on our website at: www.loveonthemovernn.com. My wife Janet, who was a Directer of Nursing at a Assisted Living Facility, enjoys communicating with senior citizens.

God bless any and all affected with cancer or  disease  of any kind.
