Dayna Weiler

First post: Jan 10, 2017
On Wednesday, November 23, 2016, Dayna underwent the most intense major surgery of her life, when she had her large intestine removed and was given an ileostomy at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.   This was done to end a lifelong problem with a barely-functioning Colon.

She spent 3 weeks in Surgery Recovery at SMMC, then was moved on Wednesday December 14 to Aberdeen Village in Olathe for Post-Surgery Rehab.

The recovery has been painfully slow, as it is taking a long time for her to rebuild her appetite, and her thirst.

She said that food has little of the flavor it normally has to her.   She also drinks water in small quantities, and gets dehydrated and needs Saline fluid I.V.s every 1-1/2 weeks.

I will be posting updates and prayer requests on this page frequently.

For me, my time is spent at work, sleeping at home, which is nearby, and spending every evening and every Saturday and Sunday and Day Off with Dayna until after she drifts off to sleep for the night.   I also stop by every morning, with her daily laundry cleaned [at home by me], kiss her on the cheek and tell her how much I love her, then drive on to my work.   After work, I stop at her room and spend the evening with her, through Supper, and after she is in bed and asleep for the night, I go home, feed the pets, and go to bed.
