I decided this would be the easiest way to keep everyone up to date on moms journey!

Mom (Dawn) started the month of December with a head cold, she had gotten tested for Covid and it was negative, so she went about her normal activities. On December 12th she came down with a fever, and her cold seemed to be getting worse. So she got another covid test on December 14th, that test was positive. That week she was pretty much just tired, had a cough, and she complained that her joints hurt so bad. But she was still up and about around the house. On Friday December 17th she was so tired, so I told her to go to bed and get some rest. (she lives with us, and she wanted to see the grandkids so bad) So she agreed she just wanted to go sleep. Each day I would go check on her, take her food (she wasn't eating much), see if there was anything I could do for her. By Tuesday I was getting worried, she just wasn't herself....but I had also had covid and I knew that I just wanted to be left alone, I was so sick and knew that feeling...and that's usually what happens when mom gets sick too, she just likes to sleep it off. On Wednesday , December 22, I went to check on her, she was slow to respond in the morning, so I went and got her some food and fed it to her....I was getting super worried, but when I asked her if she wanted to go to the doctor she was adamantly saying NO. So I waited...after awhile, I just knew we had to do something. With the pandemic spiking, I really didn't know which hospital would even take her...but we were going to get her somewhere. Troy and Landan carried her upstairs, by this time I knew we couldn't take her anywhere, I needed to call 911. When the responders arrived her oxygen was 37Percent/ actually with their machine it was having a hard time even picking up her levels because they were soooo low! She was taken to Methodist Hospital, and is currently in the ICU. Thank you so much for all of your support! The power of prayer is amazing, so keep them coming!
