Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Dawn Evenson. We are using it to keep family and friends updated about Dawn's health.
Dawn lives with Polycystic Kidney disease and has been a recipient of 2 kidneys--one donated by her husband Andrew in 2012, and the second was donated by an anonymous donor in 2019.
In February 2021, Dawn began displaying symptoms that told family members something wasn't quite right and that set in motion this latest part of her journey. Her husband, Andrew is by her side every day for as many hours as are allowed and together with him, we'll provide updates as often as we can (or when we feel it makes sense to share).
We appreciate your support, your prayers, and words of hope and encouragement for Dawn, Andy, and all of the medical staff in the middle of it all.
Updates: in July 2022, Dawn was diagnosed with cancer and began setting up a treatment plan. As the months went on, a port was put in and chemotherapy was started.
Along the way, there continued to be issues with her port, medications, and it was hard to get any traction with the chemotherapy. Dawn and Andrew stayed a couple of times at The Hope House on the University of MN campus, but more often we all (Scott, Karen, Andrew and Dawn) stayed at Scott and Karen’s place when Dawn had treatments scheduled. What a joy to get to be together as a family!
