David has been diagnosed with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis or NASH and cirrhosis. Both are aggressive forms of fatty liver disease that became inflamed over time as the liver fought to fight against the inflammation that was occurring. While his liver was silently fighting this inflammation within his body, no symptoms or side effects became apparent until severe damage had already been done. Something that is all too common with these diseases. David is now battling liver failure, and we will not know the full extent of the damage until his body has become more stabilized.
