Dave Wood Repair, Recover, & Revive

First post: Dec 12, 2020 Latest post: Jan 16, 2021
Anyone who knows Dave understands he enjoys working on cars and fixing various objects. At home, he can usually be found in the garage, working on something. For example, the old Convertible Volkswagen Beetle he restored and brought back to life.

This is symbolic of how Christ works in our lives and how He’s working in Dave’s life right now. 1 Peter‬ ‭5:10‬ says, ‬‬“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” God is healing, repairing, and restoring Dave’s body; preparing him for his revival. For this reason, Dave’s story is named, “Repair, Recover, and Revival”.

Dave tested positive for COVID-19 in November of 2020, a week before Thanksgiving. Approximately a week later, he developed “Covid Pneumonia” (crystallization of lungs) and was hospitalized. He spent five days in the hospital where he was treated with oxygen therapy, various antibiotics, plasma, and Remdisivir. He was released on 24/7 oxygen therapy and returned home.

On December 10th, a few short days after returning home, Dave was admitted to the hospital again because he was unable to maintain his oxygen level at home. Test results later showed his Covid Pneumonia had worsened. He’d also developed several blood clots inside his lungs.
Therefore, a team of lung specialists, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists was assembled to help Dave improve his lung functioning. He was also put on high-flow oxygen to assist with his breathing.

Dave’s medical team is amazing! They work non-stop, around the clock to ensure he makes a full recovery. They’re watching him closely and providing excellent care, ensuring a speedy recovery. Please pray for continued wisdom for all the physicians, nurses, and therapists working with Dave.

Although Dave’s revival is still in process. We know great things are in store for him. He has a fighting spirit and resounding faithfulness in Christ. We believe God will restore him, making him “strong, firm, and steadfast”; just as Dave restored that old Convertible Volkswagen Beetle.

We appreciate your prayers, support, and encouragement. Thank you for coming alongside him on this difficult journey.
