On Tuesday, David was diagnosed with what doctor’s expected was some type of leukemia. After a series of tests this week, the doctor’s confirmed that he has AML leukemia. On Saturday, David began his first round of chemotherapy which will last for seven days. Chemotherapy will be followed by a period of several days or weeks to allow his bone marrow to reproduce. During those next few weeks, David’s immune systems will be compromised which means that visits should be very limited and that he cannot have exposure to anything that is or has been alive – flower, plants, fresh fruit or vegetables.
We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that our family and friends have provided over the past week and know that we have their continued supported. Since he must have very limited visitors, we encourage you to support David and Deborah with cards, texts, messages via text, Facebook, or this page, or phone calls.
