On Tuesday, June 7 around 7 PM, Suzanne and David were at their routine rowing class when David collapsed. CPR was immediately started by Suzanne and a nurse who was also taking the class (a blessing she was there). The paramedics arrived soon after and took over and he was quickly transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. In the ER, they got a heart beat back -- after some fighting from Dave. He then went to the Cardiac CATH Lab. He had 100% blockage in the main front artery of the heart and 99% blockage of the back artery of the heart. They were successful in opening them 100% to restore blood flow, and then he was taken to the ICU where they put him on a cooling protocol to give his organs and brain a rest. Late in the night, they lightened his sedation and he opened his eyes and responded to the doctors' commands. His eyes were even responsive to Suzanne and Kristina. The nurses felt this was a very positive sign, and this morning they decided to warm him sooner than planned.

We are taking this day by day, and with prayers Dave will soon be on his pontoon with George and his craft beer.
