Dearest Friends, Family, Students and Colleagues,
Please note that donating to the Caring Bridge site helps support Caring Bridge but it does not go to the Crucible Institute.
We are using this website to keep family and friends updated in one place. This is not a public memorial site, like his facebook page is. Please respect that Dave was not a regular person and you have been invited personally to share in this with family and closest loved ones. You are welcome to post respectful pictures and memories.

On October 8, 2020 David passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at his home in Evergreen, Colorado. David was a deeply loving father, partner, and friend who was devoted to his work in the world as a psychologist, educator, and founder of the Crucible Institute and the Crucible Approach. His spirit, energy, and drive inspired and impacted all he came in contact with.

David Morris Schnarch was born on September 18th, 1946 in the Bronx, New York, to Stan and Rose Schnarch. Dave's parents were extremely hard working and "good, decent people" as he would say. Stan survived from a German POW camp in WWII and Rose lost the majority of her immediate family before she was 20 years old. They were deeply connected and poured their desire for family into Dave and Steve. Dave's younger brother, Steve Schnarch, was someone he loved deeply. From a young age, Dave and Steve ran back and forth between two women's clothing stores his parents inherited from Dave's grandparents in Grand Central Station. The family moved to Wisconsin for some time when the boys were young teenagers but they eventually moved back to New York.

Please note that the donation button for Caring Bridge goes to Caring Bridge, not to the Crucible Institute.
