Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. 
As many of you already know, David was diagnosed with osetosarcoma (bone cancer) less than a month ago. The great news is that the tumor is localized to his left fibula. The prognosis is good and treatment for this rare cancer is established as it does afflict young adolescents quite often.
David's treatment will consist of two cycles of chemotherapy (~10 weeks), surgery to remove 75% of the fibula bone, 2-3 week recovery, followed by 4 more cycles of chemo. We should be done in November, just in time for David to get back into shape for the high school basketball season.
