David had an ischemic brainstem stroke at 7:30pm on Friday Oct 7. This clot is likely related to underlying atrial fibrillation. He was unconscious at the time of event and taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. There he was intubated and TPA given to break up clot. He was then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and met by interventional neurosurgery team. They removed the clot with a catheter. As of 8am Oct 8 he is responding to questions and moving all limbs. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!
