Dad and Mom came home from Florida the beginning of March to sell their home.  As they packed and started to move in with us (Jennifer and Scott) David started becoming more and more sick with respiratory illness.

David saw the Dr. and was started on Antibiotics.  After about a week he was not improving, but getting worse.  Mom and Dad Closed on their home sale on Monday.

At the closing my David was so weak and short of breath that he was unable to get out of the car and they had to do the closing in the car.  Mom immediately drove him to Lakeview Hospital ER where he was treated and released with a nebulizer treatment in the ER and antibiotics for pneumonia.

My dad has CVID (common variable immune deficiency) so his body is less able to fight off infection (thus they want to become snow birds to avoid the cold)

My mom got my dad home and I took one look at him and said he needs to go to the hospital.  After a short while resting in bed, we attempted to get him to sit up and take his medication.  He was confused and unable to sit up, follow directions, or answer simple questions.

We called an ambulance where he was transported to Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, MN.  He was admitted and placed on IV antiobiotics.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...David had up's and down's respiratory wise.  As of Friday morning they have tried 3 different antibiotics and 1 anti fungal in an attempt to make him better.  Thursday afternoon he was transferred to ICU for his increasing confusion.

Friday morning, Mom was taking Steph to HCMC to have a vena cava filter placed (she has a large blood clot in her leg) and the Dr. called Mom and advised that Dad may need to be ventilated.

At that time I was pulling in the hospital lot.  David was having a tough time breathing.  He was on high flow oxygen, and then Bipap and then ultimately they had to place him on a Ventilator.

At that time as well he started having a fever and the Dr. advised it reached 105 degress (yes that is not a typo 105).  David was packed on ice and given medication to bring his fever down.

Davids blood pressure started dropping and he was started on a medication to bring it up.

shortly there after David was air lifted to Regions hospital in St. Paul, MN for more critical care.

David is in critical condition, but stable at this time.  Mom is spending the night.  Prayers are welcome!!!
