David was involved in a boating accident on Friday 6/2 around 4pm. There was a gas issue and the battery sparked and exploded, engulfing the boat in flames. David and another family friend, Jonathan Bickett, were transported via helicopter to the burn center at UNC Chapel Hill. David has second and third degree burns over 30% of his body. He is expected to be in the unit for 6 weeks and will likely need a few surgeries. Please check this page regularly for updates.
