David started not feeling well back in the spring of 2020 just as Covid was recognized as the pandemic it is and everything slowed down. He finally saw his doctor in July just after his birthday. She referred him to a gastroenterologist for further testing. Those tests kept getting rescheduled until the first week in November.  David had lost 70 pounds since the spring and, on arrival at PrismaBaptist in Columbia was jaundiced. He was admitted and by Saturday, November 7,  the family knew it was cancer but did not know the extent.  Today, Tuesday, November 10, it was reported to be Stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer and as of midday today he was enrolled in hospice care.  Martha was allowed to stay with him last night and tonight - no mean feat with Covid restrictions - and the girls got to see him today. Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support during this time.   Updates will be issued here.  His condition may not be related to Covid, but his access to healthcare and the family's access to him have been.  PLEASE, WEAR A MASK!
