David was diagnosed about two years ago with liver disease and several other complications due to his condition. He has slowly been declining since then.
At the end of February David and his family decided he would go on hospice care. He was tired of all the poking and prodding and was ready to let nature take its course. Since then he was in the inpatient unit of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for a week to get his medication and symptoms under control.
He is now home and comfortably spending time with his wife and family. We don't have a time frame and we just take one day at a time at this point. We aren't taking visitors at this time because he would not want people to see him in this condition.
Mr Hilborn, as many of you know him impacted the lives of many children as one of the youngest Principals in the state of Ohio. We encourage you to share your stories as they always bring that goofy smile we all came to know and love.
