In June Dave was in taken to the hospital for his diabetes. Dave's blood sugar was very low and caused him to pass out. While in the hospital, David told the doctors that he had not been able to keep any food in his stomach, because it was getting stuck on the way. After David's blood sugars were balanced they started doing some other tests to see why he wasn't able to keep his foods down.
In July, after doing an endoscopy, the doctors found a lump in Dave's esophagus and his throat. They quickly did a biopsy on both lumps and David was diagnosed with Stage 4 esophageal cancer.
