As most of you know, after a golf trip to Arizona where I experienced shortness of breath, I was diagnosed with mesothelioma on February 14th. After a battery of tests and meetings with doctors I was introduced to the top expert in the field, Dr. Sugarbaker, from Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, who will lead the team in my surgery and recovery.
To All Our Family and Friends,
It’s Sunday March 30, 2008 and Julie and I are in Boston familiarizing ourselves with our new temporary surroundings. We can’t tell you how happy we are to have this big week finally here; and we can assure you that Julie and I are both ready to begin this new journey knowing we have all of your thoughts and prayers with us.
We have chosen to use this website as our easiest and best method to keep all of you posted on our daily progress. Since I will be unable to communicate with everyone for a while this should save a little wear and tear on Julie and still keep all of you in the loop while I begin my recovery. Julie will try to keep current with periodic postings of my progress so check in every now and then for the latest update.
I’ll be undergoing a few tests this week before “the big one” on Thursday morning at 7:30 when the bad stuff gets removed, leaving room for my heart to grow even larger.
