Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Our son David called us on January 22nd to say that he thought he had been having seizures.  I encouraged him to call 911 or go to the emergency room immediately.  Which he did.  He continued to have seizures at the hospital so they gave him a CT scan and found a 5.5cm mass on his left frontal lobe.  Luckily our granddaughter, Chelsea, drove down from Bakersfield, CA to the emergency room to be with David. and helped us have a voice.   Mel and I drove to  California from Arizona the next day arriving in the evening.  David had been admitted to the hospital and ultimately they did the brain surgery Friday the 25th of January.  Of course, we were assured that after about 4 days David would come out of the induced coma and start recuperating.   As you most know he hasn't come out of the sleep for weeks now.

David eventually came out of the coma, but David will always have to have some kind of assistance in his life.  It has truly been a long journey for Mel and I, but for me the CaringBridge has been a gift - unleashing my frustrations, concerns, true love for my son and family and friends, but afforded me the opportunity to share with "so many" at one time.  David's journey has been a long one - it is now June 2021 and finally we were able to relocate David to Oklahoma facility closer to his sister for his future.  The current situation is working out well - and we have high hopes for his future.

If it wasn't for the continual prayers and well wishes from all of David's friends, all our family and friends that have known David, I know this "adventure" would have been a lot harder on us.  We love hearing from everyone and even just the "hearts" mean so much to us.  We can't express how much we appreciate everything and especially CaringBridge for being there for us.
