Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
During a routine physical this Spring, David had a PSA test and later found out his PSA was elevated and his prostrate was almost doubled in size. Next was a trip to the urologist for a consultation and biopsy. The results of the biopsy showed cancer in the prostrate in three of 12 places. On the traditional Gleason score scale, of 6 to 10, David was a 7 - a less aggressive and slowly growing low-grade cancer.
Our options were to “wait and do nothing,” surgery or radiation. We opted for treatment vs. playing the waiting game. Surgery wasn’t our first choice, so we decided on radiation. We met with a radiation oncologist to plan nine weeks of 45 daily radiology sessions. We are set to start day one on Thursday, July 25 (also our 32nd wedding anniversary!)
Thanks for checking in...and your prayers and good thoughts. We will continue to update everyone here as an easy way to keep you all posted.
