As many of you know, Dad has been dealing with breathing issues for quite some time now. He's been doctoring at Mayo for almost a year now. On Thursday, June 22, 2017, dad walked out of my garage to the truck and couldn't catch his breath. He finally told me to call someone to help so we called 911. FM Ambulance took him to Sanford downtown where he was intubated immediately. Had we not gotten him here, we would have lost him. They have been amazing here and Dad is making huge strides from where he started. He was unresponsive when we got here Thursday night when we left him. Now he is communicating by writing to us and squeezing our hands. The notes take a bit of deciphering but we are happy that he is communicating with us at all! His biggest hurdle is going to be removing the ventilator. The Dr wants him to be able get a bit stronger with the steroids first before he starts weaning him off. He will start that Mon or Tues. Please pray dad can handle those changes when it comes time! We understand that many of you want to visit and we want you too (and Dad loves it!!) but we want him to get his rest as well. Please contact one of us kids to visit him and we will let you know the best time if it works. We just want him to heal and worry he won't get much rest if he has too many. You know us Domiers!! We love to have company!! Thank you for all the prayers and please keep them going.
