“Positive for Lymphoma”

David started experiencing pain and a heartbeat throb in the left side of his back in November 2020, but didn’t think much of it until the end of January of this year when it was too unbearable to ignore. A CT scan revealed a large tumor involving his spleen with questionable involvement of the tail end of his pancreas. We were shocked, as David is always the one in great health. We have met MANY great friends over the years, and one of those was a friend from David’s high school who lives in the Dallas area and works in development at UT Southwestern hospital. He was able to get us connected within a few DAYS with the oncology department there. At a time when we were feeling devastated, we certainly felt this was a blessing from the Lord!

A biopsy was presented as risky, as poking around and in the spleen could initiate internal bleeding. Nonetheless, it had to be done, and the pathology report stated he is positive for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, or DLBCL for short.
