Dave is a wonderful husband to Diana and father of three kids; Katherine, Dan, and Will. He is a teacher for Holland Public Schools and assists teachers and students with integrating technology. He is a huge U of M fan and makes the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. In early May, Dave was diagnosed with kidney cancer. A week later, his right kidney was removed along with a sizable tumor. After being home for several days, Dave was brought by ambulance to Holland Hospital because of severe pain. Doctors performed emergency surgery and repaired a perforation in his small intestine which had occurred during his kidney procedure. After these surgeries, Dave was told he was cancer free. When he had his three month scan, doctors discovered spots on his liver and adrenal gland. After having a biopsy, we found that the cancer had changed into metastatic clear cell carcinoma and is now on his other organs. He is seeking care and treatment at Saint Mary's Lacks Cancer Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Dave and his family request prayers for strength and guidance.
