On Sunday October 15, while climbing near Leavenworth WA, David fell and sustained life threatening injuries.  With the help of climbers nearby,  David was able to be airlifted out  by helicopter and was taken to Harborview Hospital (Level I Trauma) in Seattle later that day.  We have been advised by the medical team that David has a long journey ahead of him, that this is not a sprint, but a marathon. We want to keep family and friends updated on David progress, and will post updates about David when we can.  We are overwhelmed by the love and support that we have already received, a reflection of what a special young man David is. Please keep him in your prayers.

Although the details of the fall and rescue are not entirely clear because no one witnessed the fall, here is how it was reported.
