Dear Friends & Loved Ones,

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

You may have heard that life suddenly & dramatically changed for us Wed., May 11th, 2016. I'll keep this brief and without details (hopefully not too curt.) Two weeks ago we were basking in the sun in beautiful Cabo. On return, in seeing a doctor to figure out a persistent cough & sinus problem, blood tests were run and discovered Dave has acute myelogenous leukemia. Before the day was out he was admitted to Loyola in Maywood. Two days and many nasty tests later, he started induction chemo in preparation for a bone marrow transplant some months in the future. The length of his hospital stay this time around is moving target, somewhere from 2 weeks (optimistic) to 4 weeks or more.

We'll do our best to make regular updated entries here. We are thankful for the almost 21 years Dave has lived heartily since his first bone marrow transplant and for the 29 years since initial diagnosis and have every reason to be hopeful for great success this time around. In the meantime, there is much hard "work" to do, a beautiful, wonderful, loving family to support us, fantastic friends who rally around and faith that God is good and in charge.
