David has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer.  They found the tumor on 12/27/2017 while doing a fairly routine endoscope because he was having some acid reflux.  There is a large tumor at the base of his esophagus, where it connects with his stomach.  This tumor goes all the way around his esophagus, is impinging on the space through which he swallows, and has obliterated the valve between his stomach and esophagus (thus the reflux).  They also found multiple satellite lesions along the length of his esophagus and 2 in his stomach.  Since then he has had multiple tests that found lymph node involvement along with 2 liver lesions.
