Welcome to the site of Dave Weis’s cancer story. We will post updates as we soon as we can to keep everyone in the loop.

Dave had been experiencing a lot of pain/ pressure in his back and abdomen for several weeks. He had been to his physician 3 times and made a trip to the ER with no luck. No matter what pain medications were prescribed he never felt much relief. We took him to the ER on Wednesday, January 29th where he had a CT scan on his abdomen. This CT showed several enlarged lymph nodes, one being 19 cm long. The doctor came in and told him he was very concerned it may be lymphoma. As hard and surprising as this was to hear, we are staying positive and hoping for the best.

Today, January 30th, Dave is getting biopsies and a port put in so we can start chemo as soon as we get a definitive diagnosis. He’s currently at Lakeside Hospital for pain control, where he found his new best friend Dilaudid (the pain medicine). He’s still cracking jokes and making all the nurses laugh. We’ve always said if someone in our family gets sick we will laugh about it, so that’s what we’re trying to do. We’re keeping our spirits up and are praying for the best of this terrible situation.

We will post an update when we find out more, but for now please keep Dave in your prayers.
